Discussion:
2 second gap

I've seen earlier posts asking if it's possible to eliminate the "2-second"
gap between songs, and the answers given has always been "no"--up to this
point. Is this still the "answer"?

If so, will Microsoft ever update WMP so that there's the option to burn
music CD without that "2-second" gap between songs--maybe offer a "crossfade"
choice to burning options. Live music really loses that
"I'm-sitting-at-the-show-on-the-front-row" feel.

At least through WMP 11, the WMPs are mainly a player, although some
recording and library functions are added. They do not include an
elaborate media editor. With a good audio/video editor you can slice
and dice, add cross fades for audio/video and do hundreds of other
things. Such programs can be quite expensive, and Microsoft likely
would have to charge several hundred dollars for a WMP if they added a
top media/audio editor/burner that will do as much as say the Sony
Vegas Pro 9 including editing and burning Blu-ray. There are many
audio and video editors out there that will do much of what many want
to do at a fairly low price, and you even find a few free ones. There
are so many different things that some people want to do on the WMP
that it must be difficult for them to decide what to include,
especially if they do not charge a high price for the WMP. About all
you can do is contact Microsoft and suggest new features you are
interested in. If enough people request a feature and it is not too
expensive to add, then perhaps it will be included in a newer version
of WMP.

WMP 12 on Windows 7 supports burning gapless CDs. On earlier versions of
Windows, you can still use another program to burn CDs, such as
